Chandigarh, December 27, 2019 (News Team): James Samuel, a 21-year old final-year engineering student from Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran will now be working as an Information Technology Resident at Google. This is a 26-month long program designed by Google to kick-start the career of young IT professionals who qualify the long-interview process. James would be joining the Internal IT support Team at Hyderabad followed by a 10-day orientation program at Singapore and 2 month long training at various international locations. This would be his first professional full-time job after completing his engineering degree in Information Technology from CGC, Landran in July 2020. He has been hired on 8.5 lakh per annum salary package.

Chandigarh, December 26, 2019 (News Team): The Department of RISE (Research, Innovation, Sponsored Projects and Entrepreneurship) at CGC Landran launched an electronic Newsletter “INNOVARE” which will be published fortnightly and will give space to the innovative events and start-up stories happening all across the globe. The Newsletter was released by Sunil Chawla, DGM, Dept. Of Industries and Commerce who was the also the chief guest for the ‘Start-up workshop’ which was organised to familiarise the faculty of CGC Landran to train students on framing Business model, Revenue model, Team building and competitor analysis which are the prerequisite for becoming an entrepreneur.

Gurgaon, December 17, 2019 (News Team): BML Munjal University’s innovation initiative in partnership with Microsoft - Heroes of Tomorrow 2019, that aims to recognise and nurture young talent to think of ingenious ideas to global issues, announced its winners. The winner, Sahib Sharma of Learning Paths School, Mohali wins a trip to Imperial College London and a visit to the Microsoft India headquarters. Along with Sahib, two other runner ups have been selected from 850 submissions received.

They were invited by Poke Vocational College, Äänekoski, Finland. This prestigious program brought together students and educators to showcase their best practices in the digital transformation across the world.

Ludhiana, August 21, 2019 (Akash Sharma): ASISC Regional Level Debate Competition for Category I and II, Senior and Junior, respectively was conducted at Sat Paul Mittal School, Ludhiana on 21st August, 2019. A total number of 12 schools participated in the competition. The jury to judge the competition included Dinesh Kapila, a National trainer from JCI India, and Varinder Datta, Faculty at Ludhiana Chapter of ICAI for Category I and Ms. Balwinder Kaur Brar, Asstt. Prof. in English Partap College of Education, Ludhiana and Ms. Baishakhi Banerjee, also an Asstt. Prof. in English Partap College of Education, Ludhiana for Category II.

Ludhiana, August 19, 2019 (Akash Sharma): The Council of the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) conducted Regional Level Swimming Competition for the students of ICSE schools at Sat Paul Mittal School on 19th August, 2019. Gurpreet Kaur, Head, Senior School extended a warm welcome to the participants and the officials. 127 participants competed in different categories in various events in Senior, Junior and Sub- Junior (Boys and Girls) Categories, respectively. The participants showcased their swimming skills and techniques with immense enthusiasm. Sister Stella Maria, Principal of St. Mary Convent School, Jalandhar was the observer of the event. The Chief Guest of the day Bhupinder Gogia, Principal, Sat Paul Mittal School was impressed by the agility, endurance and fervor displayed by the participants. She congratulated and applauded the winners along with the other participants for their sportive feats and suggested the children for more participation to ensure a complete growth of mind and body.

Competitions at an educational institution target to increase students’ efficiency. Such events are a part and parcel of schools for the holistic development of the students. BCM School, Chd. Road, is always ready to give such platform to the budding players, artists and learners to prove their potential on different platforms. In past two months BCMites proved themselves a step ahead than others by bagging various prizes in different LSSC Competitions and Inter School Competitions. Students participated in LSSC Swimming Championship (7 Gold and 2 Silver Medals), Tandrust Punjab District level Swimming (5 Gold, 4 Silver and 1 Bronze) and Badminton Tournament(3rd prize), LSSC Drawing Competition(Ist Prize), LSSC Quiz Contest(2nd prize), LSSC Poetry Recitation Competition(2nd prize) and LSSC Yoga Championship(Ist Prize). Apart from this, students also brought laurels to school by securing First Positions in five categories at Decorus Art Inter School Festival.

Fancy dress competition was held for LKG class. Students they dressed as Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose ,Mahatma Gandhi and Rani Lakshmi Bai.

Ludhiana, August 14, 2019 (Akash Sharma): Sat Paul Mittal School held Form Assembly, “MOANA” for the students of Class VI, which proved to be a perfect example of making a shift from student engagement to student empowerment. Instead of being given a road map, the Satyans found their own route by not only performing but also successfully organizing the Form Assembly.
