Phulkari WOA announced the first Phulkari 2023-24 event The Tealathon, A marathon to create awareness about cervical cancer

: A press interaction of Phulkari, Women of Amritsar, the largest women's organization of the city, was held at Taj Swarna. The event witnessed the presence of prominent dignitaries from various sectors of the society and Phulkari's top management as they shared their vision and upcoming initiatives for the year 2023-24.

The event commenced with the introduction of the President, Aarti Khanna, and the Vice President, Sheetal Sohal, who shared their vision for Phulkari and its contribution to society. Sheetal Sohal, VP, Phulkari WOA, spoke about the first-time association with esteemed sponsors for the year, Jaycee Motors, Cambridge Junior and Senior School, Ace Travels, Twill by Muskan Josan, and CSR sponsor, Aashish Luthra.

The event then moved forward with the introduction of the sponsors, and they shared their views about the organization. Joint Secretary Seema Maheshwari introduced Kanav Aggarwal, Director, Jaycee Motors, who mentioned, "He and his organization had followed Phulkari's trajectory of growth and were proud to support the organization."

Joint Secretary Rakhee Seth introduced Cambridge International School. Vansh Agarwal, Director, Cambridge Schools spoke about his views on Phulkari and its contribution to society.

Jt. Secretary, Seema Maheshwari introduced Ace Travels and invited Gurjeet Singh Sekhon Managing Partner Ace Travels, to share a few words.

Muskaan Josan, Owner, Twill, Phulkari’s ’annual gifting sponsor spoke about her long association with Phulkari WOA .

Aashish Luthra, Director, Luthra Bottles Pvt Ltd., out CSR sponsor, reflected on his joint commitment with Phulkari to eradicate Cervical Cancer.

Jt Secretary Rakhee Seth introduced Paramjeet General Manager, Taj Swarna Amritsar, where he spoke about their collaboration with Phulkari WOA on different projects involving environment and apprenticeship programmes throughout the year.

Shivangi Aggarwal, PR & Marketing Head, Phulkari WOA announced the first Phulkari 2023-24 event The Tealathon. A marathon to create awareness about cervical cancer. To celebrate the occasion of National Health Day, the Tealathon will take place on April 9, 2023. The marathon will start at Amrit Park and cover a distance of 5km. The event aims to create awareness about cervical cancer, its prevention, and the importance of regular screenings. The Activity Chairpersons of Health and Nutrition - Kanika Mehra, Ridhi Khanna, and Shweta Sehgal were invited to introduce the event.

Kanika invited title sponsors Fortis Escort Hospital Dr HP Singh Director Non Invasive Cardiology ,Dr Arun Kumar Chopra Director Cardiology, Dr Suruchi Chopra Director Radiology, Dr Ruchika Consultant Gynaecology, Dr Vikram Aggarwal Facility Director Amritsar were present. Dr. H P Singh and Dr Vikram Aggarwal shared a few words few words and spoke about the Tealathon event. Ruby Batra, Treasurer Phulkari WoA and Priyanka Goyal Cervical Cancer Program Head and Press Coordinator felicitated the team from Fortis Hospitals, Amritsar.

Phulkari WOA's top management shared their vision for the year, "Be you. Explore, Inspire, Unlock, Expand, Ignite, For a Better you!" President Aarti Khanna believes that practicing inclusion is key to creating a space that values diversity in perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences. She invited everyone to join her in making Phulkari a more inclusive, creative, and sustainable community. She also reaffirmed the organization's goal to provide a platform for learning, expansion of horizons, and networking and thereby creating value in society.

Kamal Uppal, Indu Arora, Deepa Swani, Sandhya Sikka , Ruby Batra, Tina Agarwal , Nidhi Sindhwani and Payal Mehra were also present at the event.

TEALATHON:

Phulkari WOA is pleased to announce the introduction of Tealathon, a marathon to create awareness for cervical cancer. The event is scheduled for 9th April 2023 and will start from Amrit Park.

Tealathon is an initiative to raise awareness about cervical cancer and encourage women to get screened regularly. Cervical cancer is a preventable disease, but it still claims the lives of many women every year. Through this marathon, we aim to promote early detection and prevention of cervical cancer, as well as educate the public about the disease.

The Tealathon marathon is open to people of all ages and abilities. Participants can choose to run or walk the distance, with options for a 1k, 3k & 5K route. The event is not just a race, but also an opportunity to learn about cervical cancer.

Tealathon is an initiative by Phulkari Women of Amritsar, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting women's health. The event is supported by Fortis Hospitals, Amritsar, who share our commitment to creating awareness about cervical cancer.
